Holtek is pleased to announce the release of its new series of HT86BXXEnhanced Voice microcontrollers. Within this new range are included the HT86B05, HT86B10, HT86B20, HT86B30, HT86B40, HT86B50, HT86B60, HT86B70, HT86B80 and HT86B90offering the user a wide range of voice capacities from 36 seconds to 1152 seconds. The Voice ROM capacity range is from 96Kbyte to 8MByte.
The HT86xxx series all include an internal 8-bit microcontroller, a high resolution single channel audio 12-bit DAC, external interrupt, external reset and PWM circuit for direct speaker driving. The HT86BXXseries not only is suitable for use in high end toys, but will also find application in areas such as extended time voice broadcast products. Additionally if used together with the HT16XX LCD driver devices, or with the HT67XX RFID devices, the scope for a wide range of creative multi-function voice products is greatly extended.
The special features of these Voice devices lie in their high sound quality, low power consumption, low cost etc. giving them superiority over anything similar on the market. In possessing an internal high frequency PWM circuit which can directly drive a speaker, the external component requirements are considerably reduced. Special note must also be made of their excellent noise immunity and wide temperature range of -40°C ~ +85°C. Citing a few example products such as exercise equipment, tyre pressure gauges, toys, voice broadcast equipment etc, by incorporating the HT86BXXinto their design, product developers now have a reliable and simple way to incorporate voice features into their products.
In the important area of development tools, the HT86BXXseries of device all have both assembler and C-language programming support, which together with Holtek’s comprehensive HT-ICE development environment, ensures that designers have a full suite hardware and software tools for rapid product development.
